Phyllis Diehl has enjoyed teaching in the JCP Brown Bear Class since 1997. Before raising her own two sons, Phyllis studied Early Childhood Education at Kean College in Union, New Jersey. She worked for a number of years in preschools, kindergartens, and tutorial programs in New Jersey before moving to North Carolina. Ms. Phyllis brings to the classroom her love of dramatics and story-telling (including her own creation, “Little Louie”), performing mitzvot, and preparing for Shabbat and holidays. Children begin to learn to engage in conversations with God in Phyllis’s loving care, as well as to think of others and get into the habit of performing “acts of kindness.” Phyllis is very proud of how the children have been able to learn beginning sign language!
