There are many ways that you can help our synagogue financially.  To make a donation, simply print out and fill in the Donation Form, and mail it to Beth Meyer Synagogue along with your check. 

Operating Budget Funds

Donations to these funds are used for the current year's operating expenses.

• General Fund (general operation and maintenance of the synagogue)
• Kitchen Fund (subsidizes weekly oneg and kiddush meals)
• Religious School Fund (subsidizes operation of the religious school)
• Youth Programs Fund (subsidizes youth programs, i.e., USY, Kadima, etc.)

Building Funds

Donations to this fund are used toward mortgage and capital improvements.

Restricted Funds

Donations to these funds are allocated toward specific purposes.  Unlike endowment funds, the entire donation is immediately available for use.

• Cantorial Fund (defray cost for hiring a High Holiday cantor)
• Edelstein/Ramah Camp Fund (camp scholarships)
• Hesed Fund (subsidizes operation of Hesed - congregation care)
• Hevrah Kadisha Fund (subsidizes operation of the Hevrah Kadisha)
• Honey & Perry Levine Fund for Senior Programs (provides funds for senior programs)
• Maass Jewish Community Day School (tuition assistance for children of members)
• Scholar-In-Residence Fund (adult education programs, visiting scholars)

Library Funds

All donations of $10 or more get bookplates.

• Mahzor (High Holy Day Prayerbook) Fund $36
• Etz Hayim (Humash) Fund $60
• A Minyan of Comfort (Shiva Prayerbook) Fund $18
• Sim Shalom (Shabbat Prayerbook) $28

Endowment Funds

Donations to these funds are allocated toward specific purposes.  Donations toward these funds increase the amount of principal in that fund. 5% of the fund balance is paid out each year; the remainder is added to the principal so the fund will grow.

• Frances Pascher Kanof Adult Education Endowment (adult education, visiting scholars)
• Jeanne LaBorwitt Library Endowment (subsidizes library)
• Frances Pensler Religious School Endowment Fund (ensures quality education)
• Rothstein Operating Endowment Fund (subsidizes operation of the Synagogue)
• Daniel and Alice Satisky Scholarship Endowment (tuition assistance for member's children)

Discretionary Funds

• Preschool Director's Discretionary Fund (aids scholarships and teacher professional enrichment - make checks payable to Jewish Community Preschool)
• Rabbi's Discretionary Fund (for charitable purposes designated by the Rabbi)
• Religious School Director's Discretionary Fund (aids supplemental educational programs and teacher professional development not included in the religious school budget)

Other Ways to Give

• Remember Beth Meyer in your will.
• Endowment.
• Honor your family or friends by purchasing a brick to pave our Walkway of Honor.  Stop by the synagogue office to get a dedication form.
• Oneg/Kiddush sponsorship.
