These Wednesday sessions, from 11 a.m.-noon, are open to the entire community and operate on a drop-in basis — no need to commit to attend every session! These classes meet via Zoom.
- Amy Ripps teaches Jewish History. This year, study of American Jewish History begins in the 1880s with the immigration of Eastern European Jews to the US. Each session, the class will progress through time until arrival at the present day. Classes are recorded and earlier sessions, starting with the first Jewish community in 1624, are available to view.
About Amy Ripps: Amy is a life-long student and loves to share her passion of Jewish learning with other adults. She has an MA in Jewish Education and has taught every age group from Pre-K through adults over the last 40 years. - Rabbi Eric Solomon teaches from Pirkei Avot — a collection of ethical teachings and maxims found in the Mishnah. - Rabbi Jenny Solomon teaches a class on Mussar — a Jewish spiritual practice that gives concrete instructions on how to live a meaningful and ethical life — using the NEW book The Mussar Torah Commentary: A Spiritual Path to Living a Meaningful and Ethical Life (Block, Morinis). Please purchase the book (available at many online sites). Rabbi Jenny will also share her screen with the texts.
