Youth Programs Advisor
Production Assistant


Job Title: Youth Programs Advisor 
Supervisor: Director of Religious School and Family Programs 
Start Date: Flexible, but early availability is strongly preferred 

Beth Meyer Synagogue, a Jewish house of worship and learning community, invites applications for employment as a part-time Youth Programs Advisor. An indispensable partner to the Director of Religious School and Family Programs, the Youth Programs Advisor coordinates activities and initiatives to empower children of diverse ages to experience inclusive sacred community and find connection in Jewish tradition. 

The Youth Programs Advisor is a quarter-time position--on average, the Advisor works ten hours per week. The work schedule varies with public school and Jewish calendars, and weekend hours are frequently required.  

Job Responsibilities: 
1. Communications Writing. Prepare and distribute regular electronic communications to families to preview scheduled activities and share stories of youth development. Send follow-up messages as required to coordinate event registration. 

2. Program Administration. Design and implement age-segmented activities to achieve educational objectives for youth in coordination with volunteers and staff. Execute supervisory responsibilities and set-up and clean-up and procure supplies.  

3. Stakeholder Engagement. Staff teen leadership of USY, a co-ed Jewish youth movement. Serve as primary point of contact for USY branch professionals and secondary point of contact for youth program inquiries.          

Qualifications: 
1. 0-2 years of work experience are required. Familiarity with Jewish customs and prior experience supporting children of diverse ages is preferred. 

2. Flexibility to work weekday nights and weekends is required.

Compensation and Benefits: 
1. The wage rate for the Youth Programs Advisor position is $16.00 per hour.  

2. Funds for training and development are available at the Director of Religious School and Family Programs’ discretion.

Job Title: Production Assistant 
Supervisor: Director of Operations 
Start Date: Flexible, but early availability is strongly preferred 

Beth Meyer Synagogue, a Jewish house of prayer and learning community, invites applications for weekend work as a part-time Production Assistant. An emerging storyteller and creative voice, the Production Assistant directs and films live performances of worship on Saturday mornings, on one Friday night each month, and on major Jewish holidays. Extra paid hours are available for applicants trained in video editing, video project management, and/or sound engineering. 

Job Responsibilities: 
1. Camera Operation Services. Control audio and visual equipment to broadcast performances on YouTube and engage distance audiences.  

2. Set Design. Lead set-up and clean-up of performer workspaces in sanctuary. Optimize light and furniture configuration to achieve production goals. 

3. Sound Production. Direct microphone placement and execute schedule of soundchecks to reduce risk of equipment failure mid-performance.  

Qualifications: 

1. No previous work experience is required. Flexibility to work weekends and occasional weekdays is required. 

2. Demonstrated interest in cultural storytelling and video production is preferred.
