January 19, 2026 marks a day of service honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We invite you to answer the call to serve our neighbors and communities through volunteer and service opportunities at Beth Meyer Synagogue. Together, we can make a difference.
Members of all ages are invited to support these efforts by volunteering, donating supplies, or contributing in other meaningful ways (see below for details). Naomi & Ken Kramer Religious School students and families will be making meal bags for Raleigh Rescue Mission, sorting clothing donations for Note in the Pocket, and engaging in environmental advocacy.
As part of our weekend activities, we will also welcome Reverend Paul Anderson, pastor of The Fountain of Raleigh Fellowship, as our Shabbat guest speaker on Saturday, Jan. 17. Pastor Anderson has been invited in recognition of Dr. King’s legacy and the enduring importance of interfaith partnership, justice, and community engagement.
To learn more about Dr. King’s life, teachings, and lasting impact, visit The King Center, founded by Mrs. Coretta Scott King.
