For hundreds of years, the privilege of chanting the final reading from Deuteronomy and the first lines of Genesis on Simhat Torah was the greatest honor a congregation could grant a member. Honors are given to two individuals who provided outstanding service to the community over the course of the previous year. In addition to concluding the Torah and beginning it once again, our holiday prayer service will include the traditional hakafot (circling with the Torah). 

Prior to the Erev Simhat Torah Celebration service and in spirit of the sweetness of Torah, make your own sundae at our FRESH Local Ice Cream social. Traditional “l’hayims” will also be available for adults.
