Erev Simhat Torah: Recognizing Our Keter Torah
Monday, October 17, 2022 • 22 Tishrei 5783
6:30 PM - 7:30 PMSanctuaryIn addition to concluding the Torah and beginning it once again, our holiday prayer service will include the traditional Hakafot (circling with the Torah). It is a holiday for Jews of all ages — young and old.
For hundreds of years, the privilege of chanting the final reading from Deuteronomy and the first lines of Genesis on Simhat Torah was the greatest honor a congregation could grant a member. This year, honors are given to Robin Talley and Rick Kane — two individuals who provided outstanding service to the community over the course of the previous year.
After the service, donuts will be served in the spirit of the sweetness of Torah, as well as traditional "L'chayims" for adults.
