Calling all healers (doctors, nurses, first responders, mental health professionals, therapists, and all healthcare professionals): We are doing something NEW this year on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur — and we want you to join us!

In ancient times, the priest was much more than a leader of Jewish ritual (rabbi) — the priest was a healer. The priest understood that one’s sense of physical and mental wellness was inextricably tied up with spiritual and moral wellness. For this reason, priests and their levitical assistants, functioned as spiritual leaders, mental health professionals, and medical experts all in one.

This year, we invite all healers to join the kohanim (Priests) and levi’im (Levites) in blessing our congregation with the “Priestly Blessing” on the second day of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur (Note: Rosh Hashanah Day 1 will still be reserved for the Kohanim and Levi’im.) You don’t need to know Hebrew or be an expert in matters of Jewish law. All that is required is the humility and generosity of spirit to learn to bless our community together with fellow healers.
