Special Shabbat Guest Speaker: Rick Beech

Saturday, March 2, 2024 22 Adar I 5784

9:30 AM - 1:00 PMSanctuary and livestream

Rick Beech, VP of Faith Relations for Habitat for Humanity of Wake County, will give the d'var Torah. Through a philosophy they call "The Theology of the Hammer," Habitat for Humanity works across faith, race, gender, and ethnic lines to help people build communities that support, nurture, and welcome families. For many years Beth Meyer Synagogue has been part of the Interfaith Build, which includes a dedicated group of synagogues, churches, mosques, and temples. Come learn more about Habitat's vital work.

Interested in pitching in at the next Interfaith Build on Sunday, March 10? Beth Meyer Synagogue is teaming up with Temple Beth Or, Beth Shalom, and the Mindful Living Mennonite Church to begin the process of building a home for people who would otherwise be without. Several times a year Habitat hosts a build on Sundays specifically so that the Jewish community can participate. You don't have to be good with a hammer and nails, but you do have to preregister. Older teens are welcome to join, too. Register by March 4.
