Rabbi Eric Solomon will lead this Shalom Hartman Institute class for five Thursday evenings from 7:30-9 p.m.: April 1, 8 15, 22 and May 6. Please note that class will not take place on April 29 so that all can join our shul-wide Lag B’Omer celebration.

With a mix of Hartman faculty video lectures and text discussion, we will we will consider what it means to be a member of the Jewish people, the core values that animate Jewish peoplehood, and the contemporary challenges to Jewish unity. The curriculum examines the forces dividing the Jewish people today, including nationalism, antisemitism, dual-loyalty, and identity politics; and it imagines new conceptual frameworks that can help sustain and grow the story of our people for a new millennium. Come learn with us!

Note: this class is open to Beth Meyer members only.
