A child sitting under a tree AI-generated content may be incorrect.In May of 2016, we lost our beloved son, Ricky Horwitz. In tribute, we have chosen to dedicate this Tree of Life. Ricky, born and raised in Raleigh, was a fourth-generation member of Beth Meyer Synagogue. He had a true passion for community. He was an incredible, selfless person who would drop everything to help anyone in need — whether it be family or friends. Ricky was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and friend. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. -Michele and Burton Horwitz



The Tree of Life is located in the main lobby outside the Sanctuary and offers a unique way to celebrate and honor family, loved ones, and milestones. Recognize life’s blessings in perpetuity by inscribing them on its beautiful, brass leaves and create a lasting legacy of your family’s connection to Beth Meyer Synagogue.

Each leaf is $200 — your donation will help support an endowment for education, established by Michele and Burton Horwitz and family, that will grow and bear fruit for generations to come.

• The inscription is limited to 80 characters, including punctuation and spaces; up to four lines of text are allowed.
• Months must be spelled out (e.g., January). Use “and,” not “&.”
