The fast of Yom Kippur can sensitize us to the plight of food insecurity and hunger. Operation Isaiah is a movement-wide project of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism to collect bags of non-perishable foods for distribution at food banks, pantries, and soup kitchens, and, as before, we’ve signed up to help. Drop off a bag at Beth Meyer Synagogue anytime before the Kol Nidre prayer service and we’ll bring it to Jewish Family Services (JFS), this year’s drive beneficiary.
