Hanukkah Celebrations
Hanukkah 2022 begins the evening of Sunday, Dec. 18, and ends Monday, Dec. 26. To help you celebrate the Festival of Lights, we’ve compiled our Hanukkah-inspired gatherings and celebrations below. Please register at the linked event pages. Hanukkah Sameah!
Hanukkah Tour
Hop in the car with your family and enjoy this first annual, self-paced tour of homes lighting the night.
If you have a hanukkiah in your window or a Hanukkah display in your yard, email your name and address to both Karissa Binkley and Jamie Eliahu with the subject “Hanukkah tour” before Monday, Dec. 12 to participate as a house on the route. For safety reasons, only those participating will receive the route. Open to the entire Triangle — so no matter where you are, you can know there is a hanukkiah burning near.

Senior Luncheon: Why We *Must* Put The Hanukkiah in The Window
Tuesday, December 13
noon-1:30 p.m., Social Hall
According to the Talmud, we are instructed to place the Hanukkiah in the window in order to advertise the miracle of Hanukkah to the world. However, the Talmud explains, we are permitted to place the Hanukkiah on a table away from the window in a time of danger. Is this current time in America a “time of danger?” Come hear more about this with Rabbi Eric Solomon at the December Senior Lunch.
