Sisterhood Shabbat

Saturday, January 15, 2022 13 Shevat 5782

9:30 AM - 11:00 AMsanctuary

We will be celebrating Sisterhood Shabbat on Saturday, January 15, 2022. We’ll connect with each other and the large community through ritual and prayer. The service will be in person, unless community health conditions at the time indicate otherwise. We need Torah readers, service leaders, Zoom hosts and more. Contact Cathy Kaplan ( if you would like to be involved.

This year we are partnering with WAKE Up and Read. WAKE Up and Read is a community coalition committed to improving early childhood literacy in Wake County. The non-profit ensures that all children enter school ready to learn, build upon the skills they’ve learned, and maintain strong attendance at school. Building home libraries is one of their biggest initiatives and they need your help!

We are collecting new and gently-read books for babies and children up to 12 years old. These books will be shared with children in Wake County to ensure that every child in our community has the opportunity to develop a love for reading. Bins will be in the lobbies of both buildings for the two weeks leading up to Sisterhood Shabbat.

Can you help bake?
We are getting ready for Sisterhood Shabbat with plans for an in person outdoor kiddush lunch. Now is the time to prepare the yummy foods everyone has grown to love! Please help us prepare foods by using the signup link and providing your full name for volunteering. For the safety of all our sisters, we ask that you be fully vaccinated to participate. Thank you for all your support. Location: kitchen at Beth Meyer.
